Villa Nah // Midnight Version – E.P

Après l’E.P désastreux de Chromeo, Tiga reprend en main son bébé pour une sortie Turbo comme on les aime…Les nouvelles recrues se nomment donc Villa Nah et sont passés inaperçu avec leur excellent premier album « Origin » en mars 2010 sur le label Keys of Life. Presque un an après, l’erreur est réparée avec le maxi « Midnight Version » bénéficiant de la couverture médiatique de Turbo Recordings. Cet E.P de remixes laisse donc place au producteur Jori Hulkkonen ainsi qu’à la jeune pousse du label Kebacid (qui m’a agréablement surpris sur son track « Jacking the Potato« ). Enfin bref, revenons à nos moutons pour mieux définir l’univers sonore de ces finlandais…Dans un registre Electro-Pop, la musique de Villa Nah évoque dès la première écoute la New-Wave des 80′s et des groupes tels que Depeche Mode ou encore OMD. Produit par Jori Hulkkonen, il est donc logique que le duo fasse appel à leur « maître » pour signer un remix minimaliste des plus psychédélique dans un délire très Berlinois sur le morceau « All The Days« . After the disastrous E. P of Chromeo, Tiga resumed handly its baby for an outing Turbo as we like…The new recruits are named therefore Villa Nah and are passed unnoticed with their excellent first album « Origin » in March 2010 on the label Keys of Life. Almost a year after, the error is repaired with the maxi « Midnight Version » benefiting from the media coverage of Turbo Recordings. This E. P of remixes therefore leaves up to the producer Jori Hulkkonen as well as the labels’ young shoot Kebacid (which  pleasantly surprised me on its track  »Jacking the Potato »). Finally briefly, I return back to our subject to better define the universe of these finnish sounds…In an Electro-Pop register, Villa Nah music evokes as soon as the first listening the 80′S New-Wave and groups such as Depeche Mode or even OMD. Produced by Jori Hulkkonen, it is therefore logical that the duo appeal their « master » to sign a minimalistic remix and most psychedelic in a very Berliner delirium on  »All The Days » track.
